Task:
Listen to a reading of chapters 5 and 6 of the story of Pompeii and look at the picture links for both chapters. Write a description or draw a picture of a (1) Plinian column and (2 ) pyrocastic flow. Watch the Vesuvius Animation (preface link) several times. Write a paragraph describing what is happening in the animation using the terms, Plinian column and pyroactive flow. Be sure to relate the animation to the city of Pompeii.
