Often called the main figure of the Renaissance, Leonard da Vinci worked hard on a myriad of subjects. He was more than an artist - he was a scientist, designer, inventor and discoverer of many things.
Although da Vinci's work was prodigious, he was often not paid for his efforts. Then, Leonardo decided to create a great horse sculpture made of bronze - a statue of such stupendous dimensions few believed it could be done.
Never produced during his lifetime, da Vinci's horse was made into a statue centuries later.
