Black Prince - Edward of Woodstock, Prince of WalesEdward of Woodstock, the very first Prince of Wales, was the eldest son of King Edward III. Known for his bravery and skills in battle, he was (according to historical accounts) the most famous warrior of his day. Celebrating his victories with jousting tournaments, he sometimes personally participated in them. Scholars believe he was not referred to as "The Black Prince" during his lifetime.
