My name was Daniel, and I loved swimming.

I loved a lot of things about my life,

But I realized the morning I died

That my shooter didn't.

He didn't care that I came to the U.S. from Peru.

I came from Peru to get a better education,

To have a better life in the U.S.

But I see now that it was just my time,

And I understand that I had to go.
