Double Victory - Tuskegee Airmen

During World War II, African-Americans faced racial inequality and discrimination at home and in the military.  Fighting for the very government which was oppressing them, the Tuskegee Airmen put aside personal opinions to do their jobs exceedingly well.

They wanted to achieve a "Double Victory" - winning the world war (abroad) and winning the racial war (at home).  In this clip, from "Double Victory" - a LucasFilm documentary, featuring surviving Red Tails - we hear their story.

Demonstrating the type of spirit which the Tuskegee Airmen consistently displayed - during and after the war - a survivor  - William H. Holloman - observes this about his country:

America's not perfect.  But I'll hold her hand until she gets well.
