FDR in His Wheelchair

FDR in His Wheelchair American History Tragedies and Triumphs American Presidents

President Roosevelt did not want pictures to be taken of himself if they reflected his disability.  This photograph, taken in February of 1941, is one of few which show the President in his wheelchair.

Here we see him at Top Cottage, in Hyde Park, with Ruthie Bie (the grandaughter of FDR's Hyde Park caretakers) and Fala (the President's Scottish Terrier).
