The Easter Story - Resurrection
This painting, by Andrea Mantegna, depicts the resurrection of Jesus. Following the Biblical account (which says that guards assigned to watch-over the tomb became frightened), Mantegna produced this tempera on wood between 1457-1459. It is entitled Resurrection and is owned by the Musée des Beaux-arts in Tours, France.
